Triglyceride is a fatty compound stored in the body’s fat tissues. Ask your doctor to test your triglycerides when you are scheduled for blood tests.

People especially prone to high triglycerides are people with heart disease, diabetes, people who are overweight, obese, cigarette smokers, those consume excessive amounts of alcohol, those who do not get adequate exercise, and those whose diet is 60% carbohydrates.

People with high triglycerides often have high LDL (bad cholesterol) and low HDL (good cholesterol).
